(RAW) CHIA PUDDING recipe |WITH RAW MILK

This Raw Chia Pudding recipe is SERIOUSLY delicious! 😋 It was my 1st time (ever) making AND trying the viral chia seed pudding trend. After trying it myself, I can see why it’s so popular. But, this chia pudding recipe is unique because it features whole raw dairy products that take the nutritional benefits of this pudding to the next level!

WHAT IS CHIA SEED PUDDING?

Chia seed pudding is one of the biggest #foodie trends on social media over the past few years! It is composed of chia seeds, Whole Raw Milk, sweetener of your choice, and toppings!

RAW MILK VS OTHER “MILK” ALTERNATIVES

Many people on social media promote making chia seed pudding dairy-free and encourage the use of alternative “milks”, such as plant or nut milk varieties. If you’re lactose intolerant, why not ditch dairy products all together? After all, there are tons of dairy-free alternatives on the market. Yet, how health-giving are these products? Let’s take a closer look.

As you can see, these other grain, plant, legume, and nut “milk” alternatives contain no enzymes or probiotics. The vital nutrients, especially the healthy fats and proteins, have been significantly destroyed, and calcium absorption is inhibited. Sure, some of these products may taste good, but they lack the nutrition that you would get from whole raw dairy products, which have active enzymes, probiotics, healthy fats, proteins, vitamins, and calcium! Non-dairy beverages often contain loads of unwanted ingredients like sugar, flavoring, and preservatives.

So, why do consumers nowadays opt for dairy-free milk options? One of the biggest reasons why we think consumers move towards dairy-free options nowadays is because of their difficulty digesting processed dairy products. As you can see, most dairy products found in stores are heavily processed and pasteurized, which means they have been heated to extreme temperatures to kill bacteria and destroy enzymes, making the final product harder to digest.

Let’s examine where the term lactose intolerance comes from. Lactose intolerance is the inability to fully digest the sugar (lactose) in dairy products, which unfortunately it is far too common, with more than 3 million cases in the U.S alone per year. Due to lactose intolerance, millions of people are unable to enjoy dairy products like they did as a child and are either forced to do without it entirely or choose a more processed non-dairy alternative, which isn’t always the healthiest option. The primary cause of lactose intolerance is the absence of a digestive enzyme called lactase. Lactase is a digestive enzyme that is specifically designed to break down lactose, the sugars naturally found in milk. Lactase enzyme is unique because it is created by lactobacillus bacteria and other lactase-creating bacteria which are abundant in raw milk. When lactase is not created, it is only understandable that the body will struggle to break down the lactose all on its own. This is why more than 3 million Americans suffer from lactose intolerance every year-they drink pasteurized dairy products, not raw. Pasteurization doesn’t discriminate against which bacteria or enzymes that are destroyed during the heating process; it kills all of the bacteria and important enzymes. On the other hand, raw dairy products are whole and complete with an abundance of beneficial bacteria and enzymes. Amazingly, customers with lactose sensitivities have a delicious, nutrient-dense, and natural alternative in this unaltered, wholesome product of Whole Raw Milk.

At RAW FARM, we simply TEST our dairy products for safety allowing the final product to be unprocessed, whole, nutrient dense, and probiotic. NEVER pasteurized (heated), homogenized (crushed), fortified (enhanced), or otherwise altered. EVER. The proven health components found in raw dairy products are unlike ANY “milk alternatives”, naturally! Nothing is added to enhance or stabilize this life-giving food. Enjoy our products without any “tummy intolerance” or milk sensitivities.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF CHIA PUDDING

Chia seed pudding is high in protein, packed with fiber, and helps keep you full and satisfied all day long. Paired with whole raw dairy products, it’s also a great source of healthy fats and omega-3 fatty acids. It's meal-prep friendly which makes it a wonderful option for busy moms or professionals who need a quick breakfast or snack on-the-go. Plus, it makes for a WONDERFUL healthy raw dessert, which is much better for you than eating a processed treat that’s full of sugar and additives from the store.

The best thing about this chia pudding is that it tastes REALLY good. It reminds me of eating vanilla raw ice cream! Speaking of that, you would be amazed at how many healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, and dessert ideas you can make taste delicious using whole raw dairy products. RECIPE

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a large glass (or use a mixing bowl and transfer to a mason jar), combine chia seeds, Whole Raw Milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until the chia seeds are evenly coated.

  2. Add honey (or other sweetener of choice). To make raw honey easier to blend, try the “warm water" method, explained below.

  3. Cover the glass with plastic wrap and chill in the fridge. Stir after 20 minutes, then chill for at least 3 hours, or overnight.

  4. Serve and enjoy! Top with fresh organic berries, fruit, nuts, seeds, or chocolate chips. Get creative! Maybe I’d even drizzle some raw cream on mine for extra healthy raw fats. 😉

“Warm water method”

Want to use raw honey when creating a raw recipe but having trouble because it’s so thick? Well, you could heat it over the stove to thin and melt it, making it easier to blend, but that would destroy the purpose of using raw honey. So, what can you do? You can try the warm water method! This method allows you to warm honey just enough to make it easier to mix, without destroying the raw benefits. How does this work? Head over to your sink and fill a bowl with warm water. You want the water to be warm enough to generate heat, but not too hot to where you can’t put your finger in it without it burning (be careful here). Then, grab a glass cup and add your desired amount of honey. Add a little bit of whole raw milk (subtract from the recipe) to help the honey blend. Place the glass cup with the milk and honey into the bowl of warm water, making sure the water does not enter the cup. Let sit for 30 seconds-1 minute, stirring occasionally. Eventually, you’ll see that the honey blends right into the milk, making sort of a “sweet” milk or cream. This makes it super easy to pour your liquid mixture into your recipe and stir with no trouble.

Why does this work, you may be wondering? Let me explain using raw milk terms first. A cow’s internal body temperature is 102° F, meaning that raw milk actually comes out of the cow at that temperature! We believe in keeping our products TRULY raw, which involves never heating above 102° F. (Our milk is not heated at all, but our raw cheese products are, but never above 102° F). The same principle applies with raw honey. The internal temperature of a beehive is 93°-97°F, so, theoretically, you can heat raw honey up to 97°F without destroying the “raw” benefits. This is why the warm water method works. Give it a try next time you make a sweet raw recipe!

RAW CHIA PUDDING RECIPE IN PICTURES (STEP-BY-STEP)

Get a large glass or mixing bowl ready.

Add 1/2 cup of organic chia seeds.

Add 2 cups of RAW FARM Whole Raw Milk. Yum! Doesn’t this look so creamy and delicious?

Add 2 tsp of organic vanilla extract. We love this brand.

Stir to combine!

Add 1 tablespoon of raw honey. Stir again.

Chill in the fridge for 3 hours, or overnight. Pro tip-stir it again after 20 minutes, then put back in the fridge. This will help the chia seeds to be more evenly coated.

After 3 hours (or in the morning), take it out of the fridge and top with organic berries or another topping of choice.

YUM!!! 😍 #RAWGOODNESS

WHAT WOULD YOU PUT ON TOP OF YOUR CHIA PUDDING?

My ideal chia pudding has frozen organic raspberries, peanut butter, and raw cream. I love the tangy, tart flavor raspberries give to sweet and savory dishes, especially frozen raspberries because they melt into the dish. Of course opt for organic berries so you can avoid your exposure to pesticide residue. Then, I drizzle peanut butter because, who doesn’t love peanut butter? It’s one of my favorite foods, next to raw dairy. The combination of raspberries and peanut butter is delicious and unique! Last, but not least, you can’t forget the raw cream. I drizzle raw cream onto almost everything. Salads, pasta, steak, chicken, oatmeal, eggs, and chia pudding. Raw cream adds richness and extra nutrients to every meal.
