HOW TO DO A MINIMALIST DIET IN 2024

Minimalism has been a popular trend over the last 10 years. People are wanting to move away from materialism, and appreciate what they have, while getting rid of what they do not want or need anymore. Minimalism, for many people, started as a home project: get rid of furniture, household items, and clothes and keep just what you need. Now, we are seeing people apply it to their diets.

WHY A MINIMALIST DIET IS HEALTHY

The typical diet in America is complicated when you think about it. Few meals are simple. Whether it’s a processed/fast food meal with many ingredients, or a healthy option like a smoothie or an oatmeal goal that also has 10 + added healthy ingredients…Either way it can get compliacted. Minimalism (when it comes to your diet) simplifies what you eat, and helps you focus on whole food ingredients. After all, nature has given us what we need to thrive! Our ancestors thrived on a diet of whole raw foods.

Whole foods! whole foods! whole foods!

We are a big proponent of eating whole foods. In fact, we have changed our diets significantly since we met Paul Saladino, influencer and advocate of an animal based diet. Paul eats an animal based diet, which includes meat, organs, eggs, fruit, and raw dairy. That is all he eats. We believed we have always eaten healthy, but when we met Paul, we learned a LOT from him and changed some of our ways. We store our food in glass, eat organs, and our fridge is stocked with plenty of fruits, vegetables, eggs, and meat that is ready to be cooked! We have made a big improvement. While we’re not perfect and do not eat 100% animal based, we have eliminated many processed food ingredients.

WHAT A (SAMPLE) MINIMALIST DIET LOOKS LIKE IN 2024

Carbs (Pasta, Sourdough bread, rice)

Raw dairy (butter, cream, milk, kefir, cheese)

Fruits (olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, mangoes, apples, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, bananas, avocados)

Meats (Tri-tips, sirloins, ribeyes, chicken, cured and sliced meat for snacking)

Vegetables (carrots, squash, brussel sprouts)

Sauces (fresh olive oil, raw butter, organic herbs and spices)

ANIMAL BASED GROCERY HAUL

Minimalism focuses on using simple, whole food ingredients, which are the most nutritious. Unfortunately, processed foods lose many nutrients because they go through SO much processing. As we know from pasteurizing milk, many nutrients and protein structures are denatured during the heating process. Ultra processed foods are heated for an even longer period of time, resulting the the food being void of important nutrients. You may be eating a high calorie (processed) item, but you are getting few nutrients from it. On the other hand, if you are eating whole raw foods, you are getting plenty of nutrients (with fewer calories compared to processed items), so your body will feel completely satisfied.

RAW DAIRY PRODUCTS ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF A MINIMALIST DIET

It is hard to believe that raw dairy products are a minimalist food because they taste sooo good! All of our raw dairy products are made from one simply ingredient…whole raw milk. That’s it. Simple, delicious, easy. So many great products can come from this one product! We love snacking on raw cheddar cheese, drinking raw cream in our coffee, making a raw kefir smoothie for breakfast, eating a slice of raw butter avocado toast, and when we want a delicious, simple sauce for our pasta, we mix raw cream, raw butter, egg yolks, and salt! Wow, simple and delicious.

The best tasting foods are the foods with the best ingredients. Our raw milk is simply flash chilled, filtered, and tested. Because it isn’t heated, it preserves important nutrients, beneficial bacteria, and its flavor! Milk loses a lot of its flavor when it is heated, processed, and homogenized. There is a big difference in pasteurized milk vs our milk. You can taste the difference! Simple foods that are sourced properly, and treated carefully (minimal processing) are superior in nutrition and flavor, making a minimalist diet a great choice in 2024.
