YOUR GUIDE TO RAW CHEDDAR CHEESE HEALTH BENEFITS

RAW FARM Raw Cheddar Cheese may very well become your favorite cheese because of its lovely taste and creamy texture. Our raw cheese is truly a traditional, artisan cheese made in small batches the old-world way. We get a lot of questions from consumers wondering, “Is raw cheese healthy?” or “what are the raw cheddar cheese health benefits?” The short answer is YES, TRULY!

Delicious AND healthy has to start at the very foundation of our products. Our delicious cheese is made from the whole raw milk of our very own seasonally grass-grazed cows. Raw cheese made this way is not only tasty, but it’s packed with bioavailable vitamins, minerals, enzymes, healthy fats, beneficial bacteria, naturally occurring CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid), and Omega-3 fatty acids. Absolutely NO antibiotics, synthetic hormones, or GMO anything.

Main Macros Found In Raw Milk Cheese:

Protein

Protein allows your body to grow, build, and repair tissues and muscles.

Fat

Your body needs good fats to store energy, protect your organs by providing a cushion, absorb fat-soluble vitamins, and make certain hormones.

Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates break down into glucose, which is the main source of energy for your body.  This energy provides fuel for your brain and can even help synthesize amino acids (protein building blocks).  Our raw milk cheese is an excellent source of complex carbohydrates (the good carbs). In addition to the 3 macronutrients found in our raw milk, it has many other important nutrients that keep your immune system strong and your body functioning.

Gut-healthy bacteria

One of the major benefits of raw cheddar cheese is that our raw milk contains many diverse, gut-healthy bacteria. The bacteria in your gut are responsible for 70-80 percent of your immune function. WOW! Without a healthy amount of diverse bacteria in your gut, your immune system can’t operate to its highest potential.

Vitamins and minerals

Our raw milk cheese contains an alphabet of vitamins: A, B, D, E, and K. Plus, vitamins and minerals regulate your metabolism, protect against illness, and strengthen your bones. Speaking of minerals, raw milk cheese is an excellent source of calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium. It’s good stuff!

Enzymes

Our raw milk cheese contains important enzymes that aid in digestion and metabolize (breakdown) nutrients. This is why pasteurized dairy products are so hard to digest for many people! They do not contain the important enzymes and bacteria needed for digestion because they have been denatured during the heating process. In raw milk, these enzymes are abundant: Lipase breaks down fat, lactase metabolizes carbohydrates, and alkaline phosphatase is abundant in raw milk cheese to help absorb calcium, just to name a few.

Cholesterol

Cholesterol has an unfair bad wrap. Did you know cholesterol is in every cell of your body and is needed to protect and repair the cells in your body? Raw milk cheese contains the good kind of cholesterol HDL: (High-Density Lipoprotein).

Breaking it Down to Nutrients and Enzymes:

To better understand all the raw cheddar cheese health benefits, you really must break down the nutrients. Cheese made from raw milk provides a diversity of bacteria in your gut. Your gut may be the LAST place you think of when you think of your immune system. The gut’s delicate microbiome (inside your body) plays a very important role in the strength of your immune system. To keep your gut biome healthy and thriving, you need probiotic foods. However, consuming sterile, highly processed foods, and taking broad-spectrum antibiotics disturbs the gut microbiome; therefore, weakening your immune system.

Enzymes found in our raw cheddar cheese make our cheese easy to digest; even for those who have digestive problems digesting processed cheese.  Another wonderful enzyme found in our cheese made from raw milk is alkaline phosphatase.  This enzyme has anti-inflammatory properties- something we all need.  Raw Cheeses also contain lactoferrin, which is a special protein that protects against viral infections.

So, not only is our raw cheese delicious, but the benefits of raw cheddar cheese are tremendous.

So, eat up!

Now, you might be wondering how much raw milk should an adult consume? Consuming three (3) ounces a day will provide you the equivalent nutrition as 3 cups of our raw whole milk.
